Our Daily Activities
Station Time
Our classrooms are divided into interest areas that are great for preschoolers
who want to explore, make things, experiment, and pursue their own interests.
Separate interest areas with a changing variety of resources offers children a
range of clear choices. Children choose from a variety of activities and
materials including art, puzzles, blocks, a housekeeping area, a library area,
sensory activities, and a science area.
Circle Time
Meeting as a class provides an opportunity for children to experience a sense of
belonging to a group. During circle time the children practice their
communication skills as they express their thoughts and feelings, as well as
listening to others. Our circle time activities include fingerplays, nursery
rhymes, learning verses, storybooks, and Bible stories.
Outdoor Time
Each day we provide time to exercise growing arms and legs. Our outdoor
playground is enclosed and has plenty of space to run and jump. On rainy days,
we have a large indoor space available for active play which assists in
developing gross motor skills.
Snack Time
Snack time is also a learning time, as the children take turns distributing food
to their classmates and carry on conversations. As we share our nutritious
snack, we practice our manners as young ladies and gentlemen. Snacks are
provided by the preschool, with opportunities for the children to bring in a
special treat on their birthday or for holiday parties.
Music Time
A time to get together to sing fun songs and move to music. As the children
explore instruments and learn songs as a group, they develop appreciation for
different kinds of music and different forms of musical expression.
